About Ying Cao
As in-house counsel, I have been providing legal support to business management team and core engineering team of multiple businesses. Specifically, I have been managing patent and trademark portfolios, negotiating various types of agreements such patent license agreements, software agreements (including EULA and SaaS ToS), confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements, supplier agreements, and consulting/independent contractor agreements. Also I have been devising offensive strategy for IP enforcement and defensive strategy for fending off threats from non-practicing entities. In addition, I have been co-leading a taskforce to create Open Source Software Policy and Open Source Use Guide, setting up the internal open source governance structure and conducting trainings on Open Source Compliance. Moreover, I have been helping with legal due diligence review for merger & acquisition deals.
