Member of a highly skilled Network and Security team, responsible for designing, operating, and managing TransAlta’s network, wireless, data center, and security infrastructure across 85+ locations in three countries, aligned with utility industry standards (NERC, PCI, Etc) and policies.• Configure, deploy, and manage enterprise firewalls (e.g, Palo Alto, Cisco FTD, and ASA) to protect the network perimeter and enforce security policies throughout the corporation.• Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers and switches.• Administer Network Access Control (NAC) solutions (e.g, Cisco ISE) to enforce device compliance and secure network entry points.• Monitor network performance and security using tools such as SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow or similar platforms.• Conduct vulnerability assessments and collaborate with the cybersecurity team to remediate risks.• Create and manage VPNs, site-to-site and remote access, ensuring secure connectivity across corporate and remote environments.• Apply routing protocols (e.g, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) to optimize network performance and redundancy.• Implement and manage network segmentation, VLANs, and ACLs to enhance security and traffic control.• Develop and maintain network topology diagrams, configuration documentation.• Support and troubleshoot complex network and security incidents and provide timely resolution.• Participate in security audits and penetration testing, and ensure compliance with internal and external security standards.• Collaborate with IT and security teams on architecture planning and disaster recovery strategies.• Manage and maintain an up-to-date IT asset inventory, including network hardware (switches, firewalls, access points) and software licenses.• Ensure lifecycle management of network and security assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.• Perform asset tracking and assist in audits to ensure physical and logical asset accuracy.
