About y Ethan Guo
I value the projects that can \"move the needle\", making a real impact on the infrastructure and end-user product.I\'m generally interested in research and development to solve computer networking system problems, including datacenter networking, mobile, and wireless networking. The most important thing I care about is the large-scale impact of my work on the production.My academic research interests are in mobile networking and systems, particularly in investigating how network protocols such as multipath TCP and diverse network paths can impact application QoE and energy efficiency on smartphones, wearables, and IoT devices. During the last few years, my research goal is to provide a flexible networking stack to improve QoE of diverse applications on different mobile platforms. I have co-authored peer-reviewed papers at SIGCOMM, MobiCom, and IMC, which address the challenges ranging from solving on-device bufferbloat on mobile devices, to improving performance and energy efficiency of multipath usage.
