ABOUT YI-SHAN CHEN
I am a licensed landscape architect with experience in landscape architecture and urban design. I have been responsible for the landscape schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration of many projects in the San Francisco Bay Area and overseas. My project experience includes public streetscapes and plazas, urban and community development projects, civic and educational institutions, healthcare and recreational facilities, high-end resorts and residential estates. I believe in a more sustainable future achieved through green urbanism, green infrastructure, and low impact development. I am especially well-versed in the challenges and technical strategies inherent in a sustainable design approach, such as storm water management measures, bioswale/bio-filtration planting and even solar PV panel technologies. I have completed several Green Point rated and LEED certified projects over the years. I am also a Bay-Friendly Landscape certified design professional. Generating quick concept sketches conveying different design approaches and options that complement architectural motif and design context is also my specialized skill. My multi-lingual and multi-cultural background and experience can also be a positive contribution to design projects.
