About Yi Ethan Xiang
I lead software product management and UX design at Blue Origin. We build digital infrastructure enabling Blue to build more rockets (and lunar landers, space stations.) and conduct more successful missions. Prior to joining Blue, I led product and analytics teams at Amazon and SunPower Corporation. Some of my favorite moments include: 1) Driving hundreds of millions in recurring cost savings for Amazon\'s third party seller marketplace by automating support interactions, building self-service platforms, and implementing controls to prevent fraud. 2) Defining and launching Amazon\'s \'Just Walk Out\' business, enabling third party physical retailers to provide customers with a \'no checkout, no lines\' experience. Adoption has now grown to over 200+ stores worldwide. 3) Achieving tens of millions in cost savings through software and automation at SunPower, a leading residential solar company in the US. More recently, my team successfully integrated SunPower with its acquirer (Complete Solar), reducing IT spend from 7% to <4% of revenue and enabling a projected 4x YoY revenue growth in Q4 2024 through 2025. In these roles I have led multiple teams of director+ leaders and developed systems supporting multiple internal organizations including operations, supply chain, customer service, accounting, FP & A, sales, and marketing.
