About Ye Shi

Ye Shi, Ph.D. A newly minted Doctor of Electrical & Computer Engineering from Purdue University, I specialize in latent-space constrained optimization for deep learning, with additional strengths in generative AI, robotics, and computer vision. My doctoral research introduced a novel framework that embeds hard-to-specify constraints directly into latent representations, advancing the reliability and interpretability of VAEs and other generative models. In parallel with my research, I have spent five years as an Administrative Database Programmer at Purdue, leading full-stack development of secure web applications that automate data intake, analytics, and predictive reporting for universitywide stakeholders. This dual track has given me a rare blend of theoretical insight and production-grade engineering experience. I am now pursuing full-time roles in AI, data science, or robotics where I research into products** — deploy advanced optimization and generative-model techniques to real-world scalable data systems** — design, secure, and tune high-impact databases, APIs, and web cross-functional collaboration** — bridge researchers, engineers, and business teams with clear communication and hands-on prototypes. If your team is looking for a researcher-engineer who can move seamlessly from white-board proof to production rollout, let’s talk.
