In Lloyds I am currently performing 2 separate roles and have to switch around according to project demand and most of the time I have been working on more than one project at a time. Working as Architect my responsibilities are:• Design and build models to support data management and fulfilling the strategic data needs for new cloud based data-warehouse.• Working as part of a small team of architects design Conceptual, Logical and Physical data models using data modelling tool like Power designer• Work as a SME(subject matter expert) to train and support team members with their data design and development problems• Work with business analysts/stakeholders on their requirement to design data models and metadata• Develop data architecture to support new platform’s full data lifecycle• Setting up new Libraries for new projects• Grid management/Load balancing on Prod environment• Having full understanding of environment infrastructure and working with IT for hardware upgrades• Defining data retention policies for production data• Performing health checks on all environments• Perform new installations as required• Apply maintenance releases, upgrades and fixes with help of Unix team• Design, implement and maintain platform security on metadata and physical data level• Perform data storage and retention planningMy second role is working as a ETL developer and responsibilities are:• Design and develop new data sources where data is extracted from Mainframe or Teradata and transformed into SAS datasets following the full ETL cycle• Work with analyst and management to define the direction and requirement for data to support model building• Requirement gathering for model definition and develop the logic in SAS• Perform Peer review on other developers DI processes• Support Credit Risk analysts with SAS working practice for efficient and optimum use of the analysis tools.
