About Yauri Dalencour
The intersection of Arts, Culture, Ed and Tech is exciting. I\'m Yauri, wife+mom, professional dancer, vis artist, scholar, educator, anthropologist and UX practitioner and AI/ML researcher. My husband is an AI company VP and while our fields seem distinct, we are both unpacking human behavior. Phil uses AI to detect and prevent threats in K-12 and University settings, I use AI to understand and teach human movement. I fuse arts, culture, ed and tech in the work I do and create.I am passionate about community, equity, STEAM, Applied AI, UX Research and Design, Arts Education, Visual Culture, VR and Neuroaesthetics. When moving from NYC to Silicon Valley when my husband’s NYC Google offices transferred us to Google’s headquarters in the SF Bay Area, my early work in digital archiving and technical writing in e-commerce while a training dance student in conservatory, surfaced. My early work as an NYU graduate student working on Katherine Dunham’s digital archives with the Library of Congress and starting my first business in 2007 consulting schools on arts program development would lead me to where I am today, and what I did in the Bay with StartUps and in tech.when no one was looking for a dual career or a continued dance career fused together in that way! What I know is that others cannot dictate your path, your love, passions or your journey. They can’t define that. They can’t tell you where you are and why. Only you can do that for you. And if you don’t believe in yourself and what you do and have to offer? No one will.
