ABOUT YASMIN AMRANI
I recently graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Liverpool and am now working as a Full Stack engineer within core banking. I’m currently being trained within an environment built on IBM i RPG (RPGLE). As part of a legacy platform I am gaining hands-on experience in understanding, supporting, and enhancing established systems while learning and applying RPG programming principles.Alongside my work in maintaining core systems, I have been actively involved in modernisation initiatives. This includes contributing to data dictionary development, improving documentation standards, and supporting efforts to enhance system transparency and long-term scalability.I remain open to collaboration opportunities in the engineering and tech industries, particularly those aligned with sustainability or social impact.Sustainability has been a passion of mine since childhood. In sixth form, I was part of an environmental group focused on raising awareness of current environmental issues. At university, I continued this interest through an enhancement project related to the UN Sustainability Development Goals. As a student representative, I co-created a questionnaire to assess how well our degree course integrates these goals, using student feedback to drive improvements.Beyond academics, I’ve always been proactive and keen on self-development. I go beyond what is expected of me, constantly seeking to expand my knowledge and skill set—whether that’s through additional projects, independent learning, or extracurricular initiatives.I’m also extremely personable and thrive in team environments. Throughout my engineering studies, collaboration was key, and I genuinely enjoy working with others to solve problems and drive progress. Helping people and fostering a supportive, positive atmosphere are important to me both professionally and personally. In my daily life, I strive to make conscientious choices—prioritizing sustainability and ethical consumption. I often buy secondhand to reduce my carbon footprint and promote more sustainable habits.I’m always open to potential collaborations, messages, or helping in any way I can. Feel free to reach out—especially if you\'re working on initiatives related to sustainability, social mobility. Also, for help with employment and employability.
