ABOUT YASHVIR GUPTA

I once caught on fire setting up a computer system!I always thought my dream was to become a renowned pharmacist working on researching and developing new salts and capsules. It seemed appropriate considering most of my family is a part of this industry. But to me, this felt quite satisfactory. I always yearned to learn more and do something different.I therefore decided to pursue something completely different - Business Management. My first business class helped me ignite the spark that was missing! What’s better than learning how businesses and economies operate interdependently to satisfy all of our needs? Something that really appealed to me was Henry Ford’s first assembly line. The manner in which he streamlined and created efficiency in the new manufacturing process was phenomenal. This got me interested in Operations Management as a whole in addition to using technology to solve business problems. I therefore developed a passion for Operations Management and Management Information Systems.This passion is currently carrying me through my education at the Simon Fraser University, Beedie School of Business. Having a multitude of resources here, I am able to master the specifics of these two industries. Along with my education, this passion has helped me pursue and excel in roles within this industry.My passion remains alive within me. There is certainly more I yearn to learn, more processes to change and more problems to solve.
