About Yashraj Singh
I’m a final-year B.Tech. student at IIT Tirupati with a strong interest in energy storage, battery design, and simulation-driven R&D. I work at the intersection of electrochemistry, thermal science, and materials engineering—driven by a passion to contribute to sustainable technologies.My recent internship at BluJ Aerospace involved developing a 3D thermal model in MATLAB to simulate high-discharge (>3.6C) Li-ion cell behavior. I validated the model with thermocouple and infrared imaging data and assessed advanced cooling strategies like immersion and forced convection using Nusselt-based predictions. This work directly informed cell design recommendations for EV battery packs.As part of my B.Tech. project, I researched sodium-ion battery cathodes—specifically NVP/C and Na₃V₂(PO₄)₂O₂F—by synthesizing and thermally optimizing samples, analyzing electrochemical performance under various C-rates, and interpreting structural features from XRD and SEM data.Beyond batteries, I’m deeply interested in: • Thermal simulation using MATLAB, COMSOL, and Simulink • Electrochemical systems and their degradation behavior • Multiphysics modeling of hydrogen embrittlement and corrosion • Machine learning applications in materials and energy • Wildlife conservation and nature macro photographyI’m looking for research-intensive roles or graduate programs where I can apply my skills in energy systems modeling, material optimization, and sustainable design.Keywords: Battery Thermal Modeling | MATLAB/Simulink | COMSOL | Sodium-Ion Batteries | Heat & Mass Transfer | Electrochemistry | XRD | OriginPro | Multiphysics Simulation | ML for Energy
