ABOUT YASHRAJ SAMANT

Yashraj is a practicing Counsel before the Supreme Court of India and various High Courts in India specializing in dispute resolution, civil, commercial, and writ jurisdiction matters. He has previously served as a Judicial Law Clerk to Hon’ble Mr. Justice B.R. Gavai (Judge, Supreme Court of India) and also has prior experience of working as an Associate at Advani & Co, New Delhi in their dispute resolution team representing clients before the Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court and before international and domestic arbitral tribunals under the ICC Rules, SIAC Rules, DIAC Rules, etc. He is the Chair (Conferences) of the Conferences & Events Team at the Moot Alumni Association (MAA) and the Founding General Secretary of the Centre for Arbitration & Research, MNLU Mumbai. An attendee of the prestigious Cologne Academy on International Commercial Arbitration, Germany; he has been mentoring students and law schools both nationally and internationally for various ADR & mooting competitions. Yashraj is the Co-Editor of the books \'Commercial Arbitration: International Trends and Practices\' and \'Specialized Arbitration: Emerging International Trends and Practices\' published by Thomson Reuters in 2021. A frequent arbitrator, judge, and assessor at various international and national moots, negotiation and mediation competitions, he has himself been an avid mooter during his law school days, having represented his University at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, Vienna. A national level badminton player and a sports enthusiast, he has worked extensively in the field of sports and gaming laws. Yashraj is an alum of the renowned Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai.
