About Yashna Vishwanathan
I’m a psychologist, trainer and supervisor working at the intersections of child development, disability and mental health. Over the past decade, I’ve partnered with children, young adults and families to reimagine care systems that center agency, dignity and lived experience. My work is guided by narrative practices, anti-caste and feminist ethics and disability justice - grounding care in accountability, relationality and collective responsibility. I’m deeply interested in how stories, contexts and social locations shape wellbeing and in what it means to build practices of mental health that are accessible, participatory and just.Alongside therapy, teaching and supervision, I’m invested in research that listens to disabled young people’s voices, exploring how they express choice, resistance and collaboration in everyday life.
