WORK HISTORY
Research Assistant @Ubc Civil Engineering
Led bench-scale experiments on advanced oxidation for stormwater contaminants (persulfate/Fe(II), H₂O₂) across environmental pH- Fabricated and tested alginate–activated carbon–iron beads for contaminant capture; evaluated stability, contact time, and reusability- Set up and sampled bioretention/column systems; tracked influent/effluent and internal ports; maintained organized sampling logs- Operated ion chromatography (IC) and performed routine water-quality checks (pH, DO, EC, temperature); initiated LC/MS training- Wrote SOPs and followed lab safety & QA/QC procedures for oxidants, iron salts, and adsorbents- Cleaned, analyzed, and visualized datasets in Excel/Python; produced clear plots and concise experiment summaries- Conducted literature reviews to inform experiment design and compare treatment pathways- Collaborated with graduate researchers; presented progress in lab meetings and contributed to slide decks and figures- Coordinated materials, scheduled runs, and kept inventory of reagents and consumables- Documented methods and observations in lab notebooks for reproducibility and handoff.
