About Yash Singhvi

Hey there! I am Yash Singhvi, a young enthusiast on a journey to commence a thriving career and become a good human being.Since childhood, I\'ve always believed in thriving for excellence and not settling for mediocrity. I started my preparation for one of the most competitive residential schools in India at the mere age of eight and got selected for Mayo College, Ajmer. During my stay at Mayo, I demonstrated my leadership by being the Prefect of the Grade for two consecutive years and achieved the special medal for securing high distinction in Class X Board Examinations. That was the first time I saw myself featured as the top-ranker in the newspaper, it was a moment of great pride for me. Just like any other typical high school kid, I was also fascinated by movies. This fascination of mine leads me to pursue films as my hobby. Thereafter in 2016, I went to the international film festival in Hyderabad as a member of the jury. Looking at my performance in Hyderabad, I was one of the six people who got selected to represent India as a Jury at the Giffoni Film Festival held in Italy. The experience was just amazing. While growing to become an adult, I saw my father making a change in the startup ecosystem of tier II and tier cities of India and promoting a culture of investing in such cities, this was when I was introduced to the term “Angel Investing”. This is when I decided to explore this area and secured my Internship with 9UNICORNS - India’s first SEBI-approved AIF Fund - I was placed as a business analyst wherein my role was to evaluate startups that come for funding. My evaluations were based on making Due Diligence Reports, Company Notes, minutes of the Meetings, and many more. This is when I decided to pave a path for myself in the field of Accelerator Funds and Angel Investing. Currently, I am a third-year student at the University of Toronto pursuing a dual specialization in Finance and Economics. I love to talk about innovations and collaborations.
