About Yash Mehta

I am pursuing a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology, with a sound background in digital system design and circuit theory. Currently, as the Chairperson of the Electron Devices Society (EDS), I am leading technical initiatives and organising semiconductor workshops, leveraging my experience as a Senior Core Member of CAS, where I led the organisation of the FPGA Prototyping Summit. ​With practical experience in KiCad for high-speed PCB design and Verilog for HDL-based logic design, I have a comprehensive understanding of both system-level design and low-level hardware design. My recent hardware endeavours include designing a 4-layer High-Speed USB Hub with accurate differential pair routing and designing an IoT-based Smart Energy Monitoring System using ESP32. My technical arsenal consists of C++, Embedded C, MATLAB, and Linux, and I am currently working to improve my data structures and algorithms (DSA) skills to boost my computational problem-solving capabilities.My industry experience includes the analysis of network synchronisation protocols and transport module architectures during an internship at Indian Railways. Regardless of whether it is implementing a project from schematic capture to a functional prototype or troubleshooting difficult digital circuits, I enjoy challenging electronic design projects. My interest is in developing practical solutions using electronics and digital design.

   As the lead of the EDS chapter, I am responsible for managing technical activities related to semiconductor devices, VLSI and embedded systems. I am responsible for managing a core team of members, conducting workshops and industry sessions and encouraging member engagement and innovation.As part of my responsibilities, I focus on enhancing interactions between academia and industry by organising activities such as expert talks, hands-on training and research-related events. I also emphasise the importance of mentoring team members, simplifying event execution and developing a technically competent and impact focused community.
