ABOUT YASH BARMEDA

I recently graduated from Rutgers University (May 2025) with a B.A. in Mathematics, concentrating in Actuarial Science and Economics. With a strong background in financial modeling, statistical analysis, and risk management, I’m passionate about leveraging data to solve complex business and financial problems in the insurance industry.Currently, I work as an Actuarial Analyst at ACAP, where I support financial reporting, valuation, and model development for life and annuity products. This role has allowed me to apply actuarial concepts in a real world setting and gain hands on experience with data validation, assumption analysis, and reporting accuracy.I’ve passed SOA Exams P and FM and am currently preparing for Exam SRM (Statistics for Risk Modeling), which I plan to take in January 2026.Previously, as an Actuarial Intern at Chubb Insurance, I built detailed loss triangles in Excel and analyzed over claims across 50+ airports, contributing to the development of a new pricing model. At Trans Africa Insurance Brokers, I evaluated reinsurance strategies and identified a potential 12% reduction in reinsurance costs through in depth claims and exposure analysis. My technical skills include Excel (Advanced), R, Python, VBA, and MATLAB, along with strong analytical thinking and collaborative problem solving. As I continue working toward my ASA designation, I’m eager to grow in areas like valuation, modeling, risk management, and capital analysis, building a long term career in the actuarial field.Let’s connect — I’m always open to conversations about actuarial analytics, insurance innovation, and professional growth opportunities. y•••@scarletmail.rutgers.edu
