As an IT Specialist at Centerra Gold’s Mount Milligan site, I oversee and maintain robust IT infrastructure to support critical mining operations. My responsibilities include managing cloud services with Azure, administering on-premises servers, and optimizing complex network systems to ensure reliability and security in a demanding industrial setting.I lead administration of Microsoft 365 for Enterprise, supporting end-to-end communication and collaboration with tools like Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune for device management. I’m also responsible for configuring and managing Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), ensuring secure identity and access protocols across the organization.My role encompasses full lifecycle management of virtualization environments, especially Hyper-V, to enhance server efficiency and resource allocation. I handle the provisioning, deployment, and maintenance of computer systems and end-user devices—providing comprehensive support and troubleshooting to keep operations running smoothly.I manage digital signage solutions, ensuring timely and effective internal communications throughout the site. My network responsibilities extend to administering and optimizing infrastructure components such as switches, routers, and firewalls—upholding stringent reliability and security standards.Collaboration is key at Mount Milligan; I work closely with fellow IT professionals and various departments on diverse projects, contributing technical expertise and practical solutions. Staying current with emerging technologies and best practices relevant to mining IT, I help the operation maintain a competitive edge while prioritizing system uptime and staff productivity.
