Yanula Ramirez is an Emmy-award winning Spanish Media Specialist with expertise as a reporter, producer, writer, anchor and consultant. She is best known as the lead host of Univision San Diego\'s morning news program, Despierta San Diego, and most recently for her on-air segments promoting SDG & E, UCSD, Wells Fargo, The San Diego Latino Health Coalition and the San Diego Opera. In addition to her experience as on-air talent for Univision San Diego, she has also worked for Telemundo 33, TV Azteca, MundoFox Los Angeles and the online news publication, San Diego Red. During the pandemic, one of her most passionate projects has been collaborating with the San Diego Latino Health Coalition on PSA\'s to highlight the importance of COVID-19 prevention for the Latino community, one of the vulnerable population affected by the pandemic in California. Yanula\'s social media expertise is also focused on the impact created by COVID-19; as she works via Theorie Consulting, a niche firm, specializing in expanding local small businesses\' audience and reach so that these establishments may continue to thrive despite the pandemic.Yanula earned an Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for her work in 2013, and was nominated for another Emmy the following year. Her work as an Editorial Collaborator for San Diego Red included writing opinion pieces in Spanish targeted at a young, bilingual demographic. As a news reporter for MundoFox Los Angeles, she covered breaking news during the evening newscasts, executing live shot coverage and updating social media platforms with breaking news.
