ABOUT YANNIS VASILAKIS

I\'m an aspiring Audio Machine Learning Scientist trying to bridge the gap between Music and Language. I have 8 years of hands on experience working in NLP and Deep Learning for Audio applications, hours as a Demonstrator (Teaching Assistant), teaching Digital Signal Processing, Pattern Recognition and Principles of Electrical Circuit Design, Audio Technology, Signals and Infomation, Deep Learning for Audio and Music at Democritus University of Thrace (DUTh) and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). I\'m currently working as an Machine Learning and Audio Scientist at Universal Music Group and pursuing a PhD as a part of the Artificial Intelligence and Music (AIM) programme and a member of Centre for Digital Music (C4DM) of Queen Mary University of London. I also held a Research Scientist internship position for Sofilab, working on Corpus in automatic annotation (tagging and captioning for music applications).My thesis topic is about Compositional Joint Audio-Text Modeling, trying to enable audio-text models to avoid bag-of-words behavior by enabling compositionality.
