About Yannick de Alwis
Yannick de Alwis is a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) SME with experience in project management, RF design, embedded systems design, industrial automation, product design, and advanced manufacturing. He earned his MSE in Systems Engineering at the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering.Throughout his illustrious career in the Aerospace & Defense, Consumer Medical, and Automotive industries, Yannick has flourished as a multi-disciplinary engineer who is highly collaborative and appreciates both the art and science of his trade. His career highlights include: designing and developing the hardware for the world’s first commercially available non-invasive total hemoglobin tracker; supporting the MBSE effort on a commercial space flight program; and providing technical oversight and expertise on several DoD programs.In his current role, Yannick is responsible for leading one of the numerous systems architecture efforts at Raytheon. Outside of work, Yannick enjoys flying airplanes, camping and hiking, teaching his dogs new tricks, devouring books and documentaries on World War II, playing club cricket, training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), songwriting and playing guitar, and volunteering in his local community.
