Architect and lead the development of Expedia tax pricing and compliance platform technical solutions.Design and implement Expedia shopping and booking tax rate lookup API to be scalable up to more than 2 million QPS with low latency up to 2ms TP99.9.Lead the development of multiple tax content source provider integration to provide tax rates for Expedia global products utilizing MongoDB, SQL Server, Kafka, Redis.Spearhead the end-to-end design and development of tax compliance data platform from sourcing Expedia product tax related attributes and tax rules of different jurisdictions through calculation of booking tax and remitting them to supply and government legal authorities, averting estimated more than $10M legal tax fines annually.Lead and orchestrate the full stack development of Expedia tax UI, facilitating tax and accounting business users to look up and update tax rates of Expedia products, using JSP, AngularJS and ReactJS to support view layer and Spring, MyBatis and SQL Server to process controller and model layers.Lead and implement the UI view layer migration from JSP and AngularJS to ReactJS and pivotal UI features, such as using Rabbitmq to queue the reports requests to process concurrency of running reports requests from different users, and integrating with Google and Mapbox GeoAPI to allow UI users to cleanse Expedia products\' addresses.Drive technical direction at the application/product level for small to mid-sized projects.
