Lead firmware design and development of next generation Brain autonomous robot - Define high level interface to navigation stack and low level interface to motor controllers. Low level interface definition is being designed such that even if the hardware changes, there will be no change to the interface and there no change to the firmware- Evaluated then selected new Debuggers, Software Development Environments, MCUs, IMUs, and other components to use in next generation robot- Apply lessons learned from previous robots and incorporate improvements in new design. Lead firmware development for the second generation of the Whiz autonomous sweeper robot- Re-use and share 80% of the first generation firmware code for the second generation robot- Successful safety certification of generation 2 Whiz robot Lead firmware developer for autonomous sweeping robots- Wrote most of the low level firmware drivers for the first generation Whiz sweeping robot. Sensors and peripherals include motor drivers, tachometers, encoders, IMU, EEPROM, battery (gas) gauge, and others. This code was written in C/C++ on a bare metal STM32F4 microcontroller- Ported this first generation code onto an operating system. Additionally during this port, code was restructured to be modular and allows for easy reuse by other projects.
