Working as a Postdoctoral Researcher on the Te-MobiX Project at IIT (BHU), with Prof. Debdib Bhandary. It\'s one of the flagship initiatives supported by the Government of India under the ANRF, aimed at advancing energy storage technologies for the tropical climate. My research focuses on the atomistic modeling of thermal- and humidity-driven structural degradation in battery materials, addressing a critical gap in understanding how tropical environmental conditions influence material performance and stability. The goal is to quantify the impact of elevated temperature and humidity on crystal structure, defect formation, ion diffusion, phase transitions, and surface reactivity in candidate electrode and electrolyte materials. Through this, I aim to identify atomistic mechanisms responsible for capacity fade, thermal runaway precursors, and accelerated degradation, providing predictive insights for designing robust battery chemistries. My work combines first-principles simulations (VASP, Quantum ESPRESSO), molecular dynamics (LAMMPS), and machine-learned interatomic potentials, integrated with advanced sampling and analysis frameworks such as MDAnalysis, ASE, and pymatgen.Happy to be a contributor in the Government of India’s MAHA-EV Mission, providing the atomistic insights necessary to develop “Made-in-India” battery cells capable of reliable operation under tropical stress conditions. The outcomes are expected to inform both material design and national energy policy directions toward sustainable, climate-resilient electrochemical systems.

ABOUT YAGYANK SRIVASTAVA

Mechanical Engineer with two year work experience at TCS in Design (CAD) Domain. Currently a Research Scholar at IIT Bombay working on Atomistic simulations and computational material/material property discovery. Also Involved in process acceleration using ML. As my Research Assistant-ship I contribute in Engineering Drawing and CAD Lab at IIT Bombay. I am \"Easy to talk to\" and \"Available to listen\" person, strong believer in modesty and honesty as the success tools for life. My philosophy for staying persistent comes from the famous quote -“If you can\'t fly then run, if you can\'t run then walk, if you can\'t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”- Martin Luther King Jr.
