About Xuechun Wang
Extensive experience in formulation development for inhalation and oral delivery systems, analytical testing, and in vitro and in vivo studies. My PhD is in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a focus on Industrial Pharmacy, the development of novel drug delivery systems for the treatment of various diseases. During my Post-doc, the focus was on gaining expertise in oral solid dosage form techniques (blending, granulation, compression, etc.) and physical characterizations. Expanding my experience in how drug product development in the pharmaceutical industry is a main focus for me at this point of my career. Technical skills- Formulation: optimization of polymeric nano/microparticles, lipid-based nanoparticles, and oral solids (e.g. matrix tablets). Design of Experiment (DoE), conjugation of targeting moieties, scaled-up technique (High Pressure Homogenization)-Oral solids: Hot melt extrusion. Spray drying. Blending, granulation, milling, compression, coating. USP dissolution apparatus. Experience in drug product pilot plant- Analytical: Ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC/HPLC), UV-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), powder X-ray diffraction (pXRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), Raman, stereomicroscopy, polarized light microscopy, viscometer, pycnometer, moisture analyzer, and stability testing, particle inhalation aerodynamic behavior (using Next Generation Impactor)- Cell and molecular biology: handing of primary and secondary cells lines, 2D and 3D cell culture studies, Western blot, ELISA, Flow cytometry, optical microscopy, fluorescent microcopy, microplate-reader, cellometer, focus on cancer and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosisStrengths: result-driven researcher, team player, excellent communication and written skills as evident by awards and publications.
