ABOUT XIYU DONG

With a profound dedication to RNA biology and structural biochemistry, I am a Ph.D. candidate at Scripps Research, where my work focuses on elucidating the intricacies of ribosome biogenesis through advanced biophysical methodologies. Leveraging cryo-EM, I have developed specialized data processing workflows to capture critical intermediates in bacterial ribosome assembly, providing unprecedented insights into RNA folding and ribonucleoprotein dynamics. This research enhances our understanding of cellular mechanisms, with significant implications for the development of targeted therapeutic strategies. Throughout my doctoral journey, I have authored two first-author publications in Nucleic Acids Research and co-authored multiple collaborative studiese. My expertise encompasses molecular biology, protein engineering, and quantitative data analysis using advanced biophysical techniques such as LC-MS and mass photometry. I am driven by the potential to translate complex structural and biochemical insights into practical applications that propel biotechnology and drug discovery forward.
