Dr. Xiuning Le, M.D, Ph.D, is a dedicated thoracic medical oncologist, committed to advancing novel therapeutics to improve outcomes for lung cancer patients. As an Associate Professor with term-tenure in the Thoracic Head and Neck Medical Oncology Department (THNMO) at MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC), Dr. Le is globally recognized for her pioneering work in lung cancer and targeted therapies. Her leadership in clinical trials has revolutionized the standard of care, contributing significantly to the early development of oncology drugs, and guiding their subsequent FDA new drug applications (NDA), breakthrough therapy designations (BTD), and accelerated approvals.Dr. Le is also a distinguished translational researcher, with a focus on resistance mechanisms, cancer genetics and genomics, biomarkers, and radiomics. She has published more than 120 peer-reviewed articles and has received numerous prestigious grants and awards, including ASCO YIA, CDA, Paul Calabresi, LCRF, V Foundation, and Damon Runyon awards. As an active faculty member, she contributes to the global oncology community through her roles in ASCO, ESMO, IASLC, ELCC, ESMO Asia, and ACLC.In addition to her research and clinical responsibilities, Dr. Le serves as the Deputy Thoracic Section Chief in THNMO at MDACC. She is a key member of the Advisory Council of Clinical Research Leaders (ACCRL) at MDACC, where she oversees strategic trial planning, manages industrial partnerships, and coordinates clinical research operations and finance. Dr. Le also acts as the liaison between THNMO and the Department of Investigational Therapies (Phase I Department) at MDACC, facilitating collaboration and innovation in early-phase clinical trials.
