About Cindy Gao
Cindy Gao is an advocate for people and communities. Her belief that business problems are people problems fuels her drive to build technology \"for people, with people.\" Cindy is pursuing a dual degree in MBA and M.S. Design Innovation as part of the program, as part of Northwestern University\'s Kellogg School of Management and McCormick School of Engineering. She is the co-president of the program and on the Kellogg Student Association Board, representing the dual-degree program with Kellogg administration. Outside of the classroom, she is dedicated to creating space for conversations around how technology, policy, and community need to come together to build cities of the future. She served on the inaugural planning team for the Kellogg Future of Cities Summit and co-led the Smart Cities trek. If you ever travel to a new city with her, be prepared to be dragged onto public transit and talk about public spaces all day long.Prior to Northwestern, Cindy rotated through strategy and finance roles at LinkedIn, a company dedicated to bridging the professional network gap. She taught a professional development course to first-generation college students at San Jose Student University as part of Braven and served as the chapter lead for Girls Who Code in the Ortega Public Library in San Francisco. Born in China and raised globally, Cindy loves to explore the world through food and books. From poker to starcraft, she loves all forms of games and revel in the brilliant strategic thinking required to win. She also recently became the doting parent of a fluffy corgi, Maxine, and is working on training her in Shanghainese.
