About Susana Hines
Susana Hines (Contreras-Mendez) works to build and cultivate actionable strategies to increase equitable educational and economic mobility. As the child of immigrants from Michoacán, Mexico and the first of twelve siblings to go to college, her first-hand experience of the impact of inequities is why she is driven to increasing access and equity in early and higher education. Susana holds a Master of Higher Education with a concentration in Diversity and Social Justice from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s dual degree from the University of Washington in Sociology and American Ethnic Studies with a minor in Education, Learning and Society.
