ABOUT XIAO MAO
Dr. Xiao Mao is currently working at the Codification Division of the Office of Legal Affairs of the United Nations, serving the International Law Commission, the UNGA Sixth (Legal) Committee, UN diplomatic conferences in the codification and progressive development of international law. She also has practice experience in cases before international courts and tribunals (ICJ, ICC, ITLOS) and has taught international law for University of Oxford, Jindal Global University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and several other universities in China. She finished her MPhil and DPhil in international law at University of Oxford, sponsored by the Rhodes Scholarship, and she also has Msc (VU Amsterdam), LLM (UCL) and LLB (SJTU) degrees from the Netherlands, the UK and China. She is interested in a broad range of international law areas, especially their intersection and cross-fertilisation.
