ABOUT XERXES VIRAY
I’m a Year in Industry student on the Strategy, Planning & Analysis scheme at Network Rail, and I study LLB Law with Business at the University of Exeter. I\'m a value-driven strategic thinker who enjoys solving complex problems creatively. I thrive in collaborative, fast-paced, and intellectually open environments, especially when there’s space for reflective thinking, cross-functional engagement, and meaningful ownership. Much of my work has focused on shaping strategic insights, building team connections, and contributing to national-level projects. My experience has included functional strategy, continuous improvement, stakeholder management, and transformation support. I’m particularly energised by seeing work move from idea to implementation. Outside of my placement, I’m passionate about engagement and making a positive impact. At university, I’ve taken on ambassadorial roles including Director of Mooting for the Law Society and Course Rep for Law with Business. I also hosted a Network Rail careers fair at Cardiff University to support student opportunities. When I’m not working, I enjoy playing piano (and a bit of guitar - though I’m definitely better at the piano!).
