ABOUT XAVIER WALKER
Technical Solutions Architect consultant with a wide range of experience in the broadcast industry, particularly on IT-based broadcast systems including news production systems, automation, transmission, post production and archiving built up over 20 years working in the industry.I’m particularly interested in pushing the benefits of centralised blade server technology and virtualisation into the broadcast environment as well as other emerging IT / Networking concepts including real experience in deploying SMPTE 2022-6 with migration to 2022-7 and the new 2110 VoIP standards.Understanding these new technologies can also help optimise transition to the newer media formats such as 4K/UHD and beyond.My main strength resides having both traditional Broadcast and IT architecture experience in broadcast systems. I have a solid understanding of SANs, storage, LANs, advanced network designs and VMware virtualisation as well as more traditional broadcast equipment.I am particularly skilled in understanding both Broadcast and IT worlds, bridging the gap and enabling full potential of IT to fulfil the Customer’s broadcast workflow requirements. I have seen multiple projects from inception and pre-sales discussions with the Customer to acceptance with all the intermediate key milestones, providing high level Visio documentation right through to detailed AutoCAD schematics.Being fluent in English and French, I have often been driving broadcast projects in the Paris area.More recently, I have launched a range of custom high-end audio amplifiers which are custom-built to suit Customers\' requirements, and have started up a sideline business providing EVSE solutions and accessories to the Electric Vehicle sector.
