About Xavier Black
As an educator, I believe that the ability to connect with your students, while also showing up as your full, unique, authentic self is an overlooked and powerful tool. Within my years as an educator I continuously strive to practice just that so that every lesson is unique and memorable. Much of my inspiration as a Science Instructor comes from the art styles and concepts of the Pokémon video games and Anime series. Within the world of Pokémon biological themes such as natural selection, evolution, and energy transfer are firm within the basis of its foundation. The main premise of the classic game and anime however, is what I use to drive my classroom; and that is scientific inquiry, research, and investigation. My main objective as a science educator is to equip my students with the necessary skillset, tools, and endurance to be able to think through and problem solve any academic problems that they encounter.
