About Xander Fries

In spec, against all odds\"- Prof. Spencer, HMCI\'m an electrical engineer and generalist excited about solving hard problems that matter. I\'ve worked across many aspects of product development - system architecture, EE/ME/FW/SW R&D, manufacturing - to deliver solutions that perform when they need to. I maintain frequent communication with clients and customers to understand their evolving needs, and deliver high quality documentation that accelerates communication with key stakeholders. As a leader, I create a fast, supportive and accountable environment that enables my talented teammates to grow and take ownership over key project components, while enjoying themselves and maintaining high standards of integrity.Currently I\'m excited about sensors, power electronics, motors, space systems, green energy and biotech. My recent projects include a battery management system for a lunar rover, and a drone-mounted remote sensing platform to detect buried landmines and support demining efforts in Ukraine.

   Created drone-mounted magnetometer system to locate landmines with team of 10+.• Led system design and growth of the technical team including SW, ME, EE and pilots.• Performed R&D to reduce false negative rate, resulting in novel signal processing IP.• Conducted field trials in US, Ukraine for rapid prototyping and customer acquisition.
