ABOUT WILLIAM P. ATKINS
I am a trial and patent attorney with 30+ years of experience handling complex intellectual property disputes before federal courts, the ITC, and the USPTO. I have tried cases involving hundreds of millions of dollars across a wide range of technologies and industries, guiding clients—from global corporations to solo inventors—through the various stages of litigation, from early strategy to trial and appeal.In addition to my practice, I serve as Editor of The PTAB Handbook (all nine editions) and Co-Editor of the ABA’s Patent Litigation Strategies Handbook (4th and new 5th Editions). I also teach IP litigation at The George Washington University Law School and have taught at the University of Maryland School of Law.
