The Department of Emergency Communications (DEC) is designated as the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for the City of Richmond’s E-911 telephone system and is charged with the appropriate routing of E-911 and non-emergency calls for service. The department shall also be responsible for the coordination of all emergency radio and telephone communications for Public Safety Agencies of the City of Richmond. Acting Talent Acquisition/Recruitment since 4/1 responsible for coordinating pre-screening all applicants, presentation, Tour, Onsite and virtual testing, coordinating interviews, assigning Background Investigators, coordinating Background checks encompassing all aspects of Background Investigation including personal reference checks, employment and education verification and coordinating and gathering information from 3rd Party Evaluations including Polygraph, Psychological, Medical and Fingerprinting, outreach VIA events (Job Fairs, colleges, etc.) and updating all recruitment materials for Department.
