ABOUT WOJTEK KAWCZYNSKI

I run Wark Studios, a consulting company in the video games industry. I\'m also a professor at George Brown College in the game design program. I ran BDA Entertainment with a focus on growing Realm of Empires - our flagship MMO RTS game. As the CEO of an indie studio I was responsible for most things outside of code and art. At TransGaming I headed-up the Studios Division with responsibilities for strategy, game design, operations, business development and partnerships as we built the division with a focus on our GameTree TV platform. We developed 6 published games spanning iOS, Wii, PC, Mac and GameTree TV. At SilverBirch I ran the game division of the company setting strategy, overseeing the operations of the publishing and development groups, identifying M&A opportunities, and leading the integration efforts within the division. I also directly ran the operations of SilverBirch Studios, the development studio that was the founding group of the game division. At Avokia I headed-up the Product Management group with responsibilities for product positioning, product roadmap, competitive analysis, pricing and analyst relations. I was also the Secretary of the Board. During my last quarter I took on the added responsibilities of initial customer acquisition and partnerships. At Ventures West I focused on the enterprise software sector and was involved in deal generation, due diligence and represented the fund on numerous Boards of Directors. Prior to venture capital I pursued a career in science during which I spent four years working at the University of Toronto.
