ABOUT WODEN TEACHOUT

I\'m an award-winning professor turned educational developer who is passionate about supporting faculty at all career stages in their professional and teaching careers. I’ve designed learning experiences for and with all kinds of people: from first generation students to undergraduates at elite schools, from working adults in the United States to English teachers in Central Asia and health professionals in Africa. I have earned multiple teaching awards and have been honored as a Senior Fellow by the Higher Education Academy for my educational development work. My expertise is creating rich, engaging learning experiences that people want to participate in. I bring in applied and experiential learning at every turn: engaging participants even before the process, using adult learning principles to draw on prior knowledge, and creating environments where participants can take risks and from which they emerge with useful tools and concrete products to help them in their work. All the learning experiences that I design are considered deeply valuable by participants, always at least 4.5 on a 5 point scale. And depending on the audience, I use choose-your-own-adventure principles to create a sense of agency and investment. In my recent several years of workshops, 100% of participants said that would recommend to a colleague and that they either had already, or would, transfer the learning to other contexts.I am committed to co-creation and am skilled at bringing projects from the idea stage through completion. I have taught and developed curriculum at institutions on four continents and am always intrigued by challenge.
