About William McNulty

William McNulty is the cofounder of UA1, a defense tech fund transforming Ukraine\'s battlefield innovations into the arsenal of the free world. Prior to UA1, William cofounded White Stork, a non-lethal military aid & last mile logistics charity founded in Ukraine following the 2022 russian invasion. For this work, russia publicly designated William as a foreign combatant. William has led teams that built seven international disaster response charities with headquarters in six countries. Prior to White Stork, William cofounded Team Rubicon and then founded Team Rubicon Global, the internationally acclaimed veteran-led disaster response organization that built charities in Australia, Canada, Norway, United Kingdom, and USA. William is a U.S. Marine who served in the infantry and intelligence. He has worked in support of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and the National Security Council’s Iraq Threat Finance Cell. He holds a B.A. in Economics and Communication Studies from the University of Kansas and an M.A. in Government from Johns Hopkins University.​ William serves on the board of Disaster Relief Australia (formerly Team Rubicon Australia) and White Stork. Previously William served as a director of Airlink Flight, RE:ACT UK Disaster Response (formerly Team Rubicon UK), Team Rubicon Canada, Team Rubicon Norway, Team Rubicon USA, Team Rubicon Global, and the Truman National Security Project. He is a Presidential Leadership Scholar and lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations. His awards and honors include: 2024 Pritzker Military Museum & Library Citizen Soldier Award; 2018 New York Global Leaders Dialogue Humanitarian Award; 2017 Honorary PhD in Humane Letters from the University of Kansas; 2015 Heinz Award for the Human Condition; 2015 National Conference on Citizenship HOOAH Award; 2012 Grinnell College Young Social Innovator of the Year; and 2010 Johns Hopkins University Government Service Alumni Award.
