About Richard Gray

Making public, my knowledge and experience to replace Cyanide(Poison) in the Gold mining…

I support a (non-ammoniacal) Thiosulfate Leach Process to replace the standard one that has ammonia in it. The ammonia in the process along with the early 80s recession ruined an attempt with Goldfields South Africa to use the process down in the mine stopes to collect all the stray Gold as this process is not poisonous like cyanide. But ammonia is not good to have down in a mine either. But a non-ammoniacal thiosulfate leach could be used there, and for heap leaching etc as the leach with a substituted amine like ethanolamine has low volatility and safe! Use alkamines and other amines to replace the ammonia! Gold has gained so much value that I believe all Gold(and Platinum Group) Leaching should switch to non cyanide systems which will save animal and Human lives and save plants and help save the planet!
