I spent twenty-years at the Office of the State Comptroller working in the areas of GAAP financial reporting, municipal bond market disclosure, popular reports, special studies, audits, public authority administration, debt issuance & management, and budget & policy analysis. At OSC I received leadership training at the Rockefeller College Strategic Leadership Institute for Management Confidential Employees and was a member of the Comptroller\'s Employee Recognition Committee. In 2008 I became the Chief Financial Officer of the Albany County Airport Authority. As the Airport’s CFO, I fulfilled the Designated Financial Officer’s duties under the Master Bond Resolution and was responsible for cash & debt management, debt issuance, original & continuing disclosure, post issuance compliance, operating budgets, capital & financing plans, operating & capital accounting procedures & controls, financial administration for grants, lease administration, procurement, insurance, information technology, and air service development. I have prepared transaction guides for complex transactions, and Rating Agency presentations which, over time, have taken the Authority from Negative Outlook by Moody\'s to back to back upgrades by S&P. I was also the sole Trustee of the Authority OPEB Trust, which I created in 2009. In September 2019 I became the Assistant Director of Accounting for Broward County. In September 2020 I became Director of Accounting for Broward County Florida and am responsible for the Accounting System, Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll for the 18th largest County in the Country.I have participated in GASB task force projects, round table discussions, provided comment letters to exposure drafts & preliminary view documents, and participated in field tests for future accounting standards. I have responded to IRS notices, audits of tax-exempt bonds, state sales tax, petroleum business tax, federal excise tax, general tax compliance, and US DOL wage and hour audits as well as routine financial statement and compliance audits. I am a CPA and a Certified Government Financial Manager.
