ABOUT HUW THOMAS

Huw ThomasBA Hons. Dip Arch (UCL)I studied architecture at the Polytechnic of the South Bank in London, graduating with a first class honours degree in 1983, I subsequently received my Dip Arc from the Bartlett School, UCL.I was a Partner at Foster + Partners from 19••••17 working initially on the King’s Cross redevelopment and BR International Terminal. I continued masterplanning with work on the Cannes Masterplan, Austerlitz Station, the Sagrera plan in Barcelona, Manchester\'s Olympics bid, Wilhelminapier in Rotterdam, a waterfront city for Durban, Wembley Stadium, Tangier Harbour and the Jordan Rift Valley Masterplan. I have worked on numerous transport projects, including proposals for the airport station in Hong Kong, Central Station re-development in Kuala Lumpur, St Pancras station for CTRL, Luton Airport’s masterplan and terminal facilities, QAIA in Jordan and most recently the four new stations on the Haramain line in Saudi Arabia and the expansion of Doha International Airport. I have also contributed to numerous designs including the new library at the Cranfield Institute of Technology, a congress hall in Valencia, the Treasury building in London and Wembley Stadium. Competition projects have included major developments around the world.I am currently working as an Independent Consultant on various projects world wide and a series of innovative infrastructure and technology led developments which seek to change the way we approach strategic issues by adopting a more holistic approach.
