Responsible for the safety of all employees working on assigned projects during the ships repair process-Communicates HSEQ plans to Department Supervisors including the weekend day shift General -Supervisor and ensures that all employees look to eliminate safety hazards at every opportunity-Works closely with the project management team in planning, allocating manpower resources and executing multiple projects at the same time-Manages and coordinates the work and schedules with department Supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors-Monitors and reports safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance and advises project management team, Operations managers, supervisors, and projects director if deviations are anticipated. Initiates timely corrective action plans vital to maintain overall schedule adherence-Verifies completion of jobs for each project. Conducts needful inspections and reports results to Project management team-Provides input to Department Supervisors for trade improvements (related to training, equipment, or process) required for optimal build strategy implementation-Works with Supply Chain to resolve material, quality, and schedule issues-Active daily management and maintenance of Vancouver Drydock Production Systems-Directly manages and develops steel Supervisors into a high performing team-Monitors team performance, mentors Department Supervisors, Chargehands and trades. Initiates and follows through on necessary improvements and recognizes worker performance-Performs all job-related responsibilities in accordance with Seaspan’s Core Values and leads by example.
