Collaborates with digitization specialists and post-production IT teams to transform physical media into organized, searchable digital collections within an in-house Media Asset Management (MAM) system.OPERATIONS AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT- Plan and coordinate daily operations of the archive department- Prepare and manage department budget- Supervise and coach staff and volunteers- Manage digitization projects from RFP generation through ingest into a media asset management system- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goalsRESEARCH & COLLECTION ACCESS- Conduct topical research using internal and external sources for clients- Search 62-year-old collection for archival programming pertinent to production and rights & clearances- Provide audiovisual and research services company-wide for 300+ employees- Meet timelines and deliver research or services to clientsMETADATA, CATALOGING AND DIGITAL PRESERVATION- Process and catalog media collection- Enhance preexisting descriptive metadata records for audiovisual materials- Recreate descriptive information about content where records no longer exist- Ensure database is accurate and current- Knowledge of access, preservation and best practices standards for audiovisual collections- Understanding of archival techniques designed to preserve physical media files- Knowledge of information retrieval and storage technologiesCOLLECTION AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT- Repatriate media owned by the company that is housed in external collections- Assess the collection to identify materials owned by other institutions with the goal of returning them to their owners- Ensure that rare and valuable collections are preserved properly with metadata - Curate existing media files to determine items that should be purged from storageADVOCACY- Hosted staff screening events highlighting archival content- Published a monthly blog in internal company newsletter which included clips from the archive packaged with contextual information- Promote library resources and services externally via attendance at conferences and workshops- Establish and maintain productive partnerships with clients and vendors
