About Winnie Tsai
Hello, I am Winnie Tsai. I am currently a student at Carnegie Mellon University pursuing a master\'s degree in Entertainment Technology (expected graduation is May 2026). In this project-focused program, I synthesize skills in software development, user research, and project management within cross-functional teams to design and develop interactive and immersive experiences - games, XR, as well as the tools that enable them. As a programmer, I focus on gameplay systems, adaptive audio design, and spatial sound; as a user researcher, I lead rapid iterative design informed by research and playtesting; as a producer, I align teams around shared creative visions through open-minded synthesis and clear, collaborative communication; and as an experience designer, I value emotionally resonant, expressive interactions that enrich the player or guest journey. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Applied and Computational Math Sciences (Discrete Math and Algorithms) and a minor in Dance from the University of Washington. My key technical projects lie in the realm of programming language and logic, including a MiniJava compiler and a Made-Up Programming Language interpreter written in Racket. My perspective is also strongly shaped by UX research and marketing through other academic projects and past internships. I am particularly interested in contributing to areas where software and storytelling intersect, building systems that enable emotional, playful, and expressive experiences. Please don\'t hesitate to connect if you are interested in my current work at the Entertainment Technology Center or in discussing opportunities in the fields of creative software development, XR, or games.
