Founded Kerkhoff Technologies in 2007 and grew it into a focused MSP serving organizations across British Columbia. In 2015, recognizing the need for specialized Linux expertise, split our Linux practice into a separate brand - Crafty Penguins. Helping MSPs solve service delivery and project management challenges by applying proven methods from manufacturing and software development. Through TopLeft, we give MSP teams (IT Managed Service Providers) the visual management tools and practical coaching they need to reduce chaos, improve flow, and deliver better results for their clients. & :* Founded and run two successful MSPs: Crafty Penguins and improvingit (formerly Kerkhoff Technologies)* Created TopLeft after experiencing service delivery problems firsthand - despite using ConnectWise* Help MSP teams reduce ticket backlogs, improve project completion rates, and meet SLAs consistently* Focus on practical solutions for workflow management, resource allocation, and team collaboration :Growing up in a family of builders taught me the importance of clear processes and visual management. Starting at 14 in my uncle\'s window factory, I learned about production flow while operating equipment and managing materials. These manufacturing principles - especially Kanban and visual management - now help MSPs improve their operations. & Twenty five years of hands-on experience with:* Linux system administration and software development* Typical Windows IT support - full-stack MSP* Implementing Agile practices (Scrum, XP, Test Driven Development)* Transforming chaotic development teams into high-performing units* Applying Kanban methods to service delivery After losing clients due to project & service delivery issues in my own MSP, I knew there had to be a better way. We adapted Kanban methods to visualize our ConnectWise tickets, and the results were transformative. This evolved into TopLeft - now helping MSPs integrate visual management with their PSA (ConnectWise Manage, Datto Autotask, or HaloPSA) while adopting proven practices that improve how work gets done. Managing MSPs while raising six children and competing in triathlons has taught me invaluable lessons about priorities, time management, and sustained performance.
