As an engineer, I love being given a problem that requires me to apply everything I have learnt to formulate a solution. My University degree and my Engineering job roles have given me experience in mechanical, sustainable energy and defence sectors. This has given an appreciation of the diverse opportunities that my degree can offer me for a career in engineering. I am a hard working, adaptable and enthusiastic person who is always ready to get stuck into any task given to me. During my time in and before university, I have always sought to take on leadership roles whenever possible. I have had the opportunity to lead a number of academic group projects, be Front of House Manager for the University cinema, be Technical Manager for Photographic Society and most lastly become a Director and Trustee at for the Students’ Union. I have continued this drive and enthusiasm into my full time engineering jobs and am currently a Lead Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover.I have developed a range of transferable interpersonal skills and am a strong and committed team player. I think quickly on my feet, process complex information appropriately and am able to develop a plan of action, which takes into account the teams’ opinions, as well as the beneficiaries of the action.
