ABOUT WILLS BLOOM

Over the past three years at Fyous, I\'ve embraced the dynamic environment of a startup, adapting to ever-changing needs of the business to add the most value. While my foundation is in mechanical engineering, my role has expanded far beyond that title. From becoming an amateur seamster to running production teams and leading critical projects, I\'ve worn many hats in the pursuit of innovation:• PolyMorphic Forming Machine & Tooling: Played a pivotal role in the design, planning, and manufacture of Fyous\' groundbreaking PolyMorphic Forming Machine and PolyMorphic Tooling.• Custom Footwear Realization: Transformed Fyous\' ambition of making custom footwear from concept to reality. This included designing the construction, sourcing materials, acquiring manufacturing machinery, and developing and optimising the assembly process.• Software Development: Self-taught in WPF and C#, I designed and coded the UI of Fyous\' PolyMorphic Forming Machine:1. Cradle to Grave Product Development: Proficient in CAD, taking designs from initial concept all the way to reality.2. Design for Manufacture: Hands-on experience with a broad range of manufacturing processes—including CNC milling, additive manufacturing, and laser cutting—enabling me to design effectively for specific manufacturing methods.3. Lean Development: Skilled in utilising the Minimum Viable Products (MVP) framework to maximise value with quick and informed iterations in the shortest possible time.4. Project Management: Experienced in using Microsoft Projects to manage detailed projects within a multi-discipline team.5. Rapid Learning & Adaptability: Quick to learn new skills and immediately leverage them in my work:My journey began with Sheffield Formula Racing—the University of Sheffield\'s Formula Student Team—where working in a tight-knit, highly motivated team laid the foundation for my transition to a startup like Fyous. This experience prepared me with the mentality and work ethic needed for the fast-paced and ever-changing startup environment.At Fyous, I\'ve seized every opportunity to take on new responsibilities and grow my skill set. This includes becoming a line manager for colleagues in various roles—a responsibility that was unexpected but incredibly rewarding. Helping my colleagues grow and develop has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my career.
