Willonie is a seasoned biotechnology leader with over 15 years of experience in the life sciences industry, spanning oncology genetic testing, commercial excellence, medical affairs, operations, and P&L management. She holds an MS in Genetic Counseling from Case Western Reserve University and is a certified and licensed genetic counselor.Willonie is a strategic leader that has a proven track record of leading start-up commercial efforts and building laboratory business operations to acquisition and integration. She was instrumental in leading commercial efforts for cancer genetic testing in the new Next-Generation Sequencing era with GeneDx-BioReference Laboratories and building the North America operations for Blueprint Genetics, a rare disease genetic testing company in Seattle, which was acquired by Quest Diagnostics. She has leveraged her expertise in oncology and rare disease to support commercial excellence, medical affairs expertise and reimbursement strategies. She is passionate about improving the lives of patients affected by genetic diseases and bringing genomic testing to mainstream medicine.
