ABOUT WILL JACKSON

I am a analytical thinker with a unique ability to balance a drive for perfection with creativity. I believe life is a learning process; those who know how to learn are better equipped to adapt to change, meet challenges, and channel curiosity and creativity into productivity. I\'ve worked in real estate, ministry and non-profit program management, higher education teaching, biomedical research and management of a geochemistry lab start-up. I currently work in training in the credit union world and pastoral administration. No matter where I go, I find that science is an awesome way to think creatively and analyze critically. As neuroscientist Stuart Firestein articulates it,\"Science is the pursuit of ignorance.\" Rather than solving problems, a scientist is really looking for the next big question or redefining their original question based on new knowledge.As a trained Cancer Biologist, I have a background in cell/molecular biology, genetics, cellular metabolism, cancer pathophysiology, modeling cancer, metabolomics and \"omic\" data integration, microbiology and immunology. I have taught undergraduate courses in scientific writing and research methodology, non-majors biology, advanced cell biology, and a two-semester human anatomy and physiology course.An academic nerd at heart, I enjoy applying learning theory and subject matter expertise to real world problems. I currently work as a Training Support Specialist managing the LMS and helping to develop and operationally support training for one of Alabama’s largest credit unions. I am also an Administrative Pastor for a mid-sized congregation.
